...By sponsoring us to run this years Marathon des Sables.All these running adventures are great fun but in the process we are trying to raise as much money as possible to help people who are less fortunate than us.
We have decided to support and raise money for a charity called Facing Africa, which is concerned with the prevention and cure of a terrible facial disfigurement disease called NOMA. The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that 140,000 new cases of NOMA occur each year and of these, a mere 10% survive. This is mainly in sub-Saharan countries from Senegal to Ethiopia.
